Description
2 feet by 3 feet, acrylics on gallery-wrapped canvas
This is a painting I titled ". . . but deliver us from MRSA, amen!"
It was my first serious attempt at art after my accident. I had spent some time researching the MRSA bacteria while recuperating and was captivated by the beauty of the microbes. The bacteria is the red globules in the foreground and the background is the dead tissue upon which it feeds.
This is my fanciful interpretation as the lighting under a microscope is, by necessity, generally evenly lit giving bacteriological specimens a flat appearance.
I donated this painting to the nurses in the Infusion Therapy Department of a local hospital in thanks for the daily IV antibiotics that eventually killed the bacteria.
